Thanks to Henry for sharing this unseen footage. The duets
with David's Weissenborn and flute are heartbreakingly beautiful.

Those World Out Of Time records they made for Shanachie were just incredible. Still some of my favorites. I still have them all on cassette.
I learned so much from David’s words in his interviews where he sings the praises of other musicians. If he made a recommendation, I sought it out. Same as Ry Cooder. They were like spiritual guides for me, pointing me towards things that I knew might resonate with me because it was the music that had deep roots and bore the fruits.
It was so far beyond just a steel or slide guitar for me. It was a cultural and spiritual awakening.

Thanks for that incredible tribute to David Lindley. I really love the Rossy clip especially. David played something that he said was a valiha piece, which he must learned from the great Randafison. This is a great reminder of that recording and the fantastic solo he played on it. I love Henry’s solo too. Purely incredible music.

The Madagasgar and Norway CDs are amazing. I had them all but lost 75% of my music in a computer crash a few years ago. I love seeing David with these musicians. He was so genuine and in tune with world musicians and meshed so well with them. When Brozman did it, he made it all about himself.

Henry is a fascinating cat as well. Part of the Kaiser Permanente healthcare family, he had a really tough childhood ... mother with mental health issues, sent away to military school, etc. He has a fascinating video where he free-forms on electric guitar while telling the story of his disappointment as a kid when finally seeing the Flintstones after they had been built up as some amazing, life-changing thing in his kid mind. We owe him a debt of gratitude for the great music he made with DL and his campaigning of these world roots musicians.
