3/15/23. Since the guitar did not sell, it has been shipped to one of my brothers in California along with all the extra parts. He is an accomplished guitar player and machinist and wants to study it.

This is one of three guitars I'm posting from my father's estate. Located in Chesterfield, Virginia, just outside of Richmond. Belonged to Harold Near.

Asking price is $1600 or best offer for the guitar plus extra BosSan parts. These are being sold as a bundle. See pictures below.

9 pedals, 4 knee levers.

Bought second hand in 1991 from Roy Thomas. This one has not been played regularly since purchase, so lightly used. Two of the cross shafts are not installed, so the corresponding pedal rods are not attached, but the BosSan parts, including extra parts, are with the guitar. See pictures and posts below.

Kept covered and not very dusty at all. Very good condition.
Cash and carry preferred or buyer could be able to drive to a meeting place within one hour of Richmond, VA. Out of area offers will be considered, but buyer will need to pay shipping. I can break down the guitar and get it to FedEx.
Please respond via email or PM.

Hard to imagine all the design & machine/finish work it took to produce. This is Pre-CAD as well, I’d say. Terry should take a helper if (weather permitting) you should meet for a sale, lots to handle. GLWTS!

went by the house today, the guitar is in great shape

will just need a couple parts put back on (they have a few boxes of parts!) and tweaked

I do know the pedals are emmons

but overall, I'd say a couple days worth of work

lastly, it's a pull release system ala a older marlen steel or Hudson/growler steel

Thanks Daniel for posting a summary and being so helpful when you visited. Here are some pictures of the guitar and parts that may help show what's going on. You can see where the crossbars need to go in to hold the pedal rods.

I emailed Paul Redmond and he was kind enough to respond to a question about this. The bottom 2 shafts in the last picture are for the pedal rods. Note they have the little arm which closes the lock on the ball swivel.

And another picture showing all the BosSan parts laid out on a table before we bundled them into groups in a box. The guitar seems to only need the two cross bars pictured above, but there were a lot of extra parts he had on hand. Other more detailed pictures available. They may not all be "BosSan" parts, but they are the ones he was working with on this guitar years ago.

We will no longer be selling the guitar for now, so this thread can be closed. Thanks for the interest.
