Aloha friends,

finally, here is
Hawaiian Steel Guitar Quick Tips #2
In this episode I will talk about the Hipshot Doubleshot
and about my tunings in general.
Please note, this was recorded in fall last year, right now I am
in cold and rainy Berlin and miss being outside.

I just don't see much use for me personally. Only playing at home I have plenty of time to re-tune. Also don't really care for the way they look. Just another thing (most of us?) don't need.

from the cold rainy/snowy Mojave Desert.

I'm of the school that more,...much more......is more betterer......I love the gadgets, bells, whistles, and anything that advances, changes, and makes unique our instruments.....especially since our bar is our single fretting finger......

That being said, I love your set up.....I have a Road-O-Phonic with the Doubleshot and it's great to have 2 tunings with the lift of a lever....my default tuning is G and with the lever I have D.....D being the 5 chord, I've messed around with lifting the lever going into the D chord....takes some practice but you can get sort of a pedal steel sound or definitely the sound when you depress the lever(s) on the Dudenberg.......

I also thought about adding the pitch key with the Doubleshot but wasn't sure about it......now I know.....thanks for that......I can certainly see 2 pitch keys on a 7 string G6....L>H GBDEGBD.......raise string 4 from E to F (or F# - not sure if you can do both on 1 pitch key) and string 2.....and lower B to Bb.....those changes give you a nice variety of chords.....

Anyhow, great stuff......
