On the big Bear Family box set they did on Lefty Frizzell there is a demo called "Believe me, its true" Its pretty rough in quality but its obviously a nice sounding song from what I can hear of it so my question is did Lefty ever record it for release or did any other artists, I ask mainly because Id love to hear or at least know all the lyrics to it. |

I really don't know, but I will say this. If Bear Family did not make it part of that box set, I've got my doubts.

I did a fairly complete search and could find no evidence of that particular song ever being released by Lefty. |

I appreciate the input on this. Lefty had some good demo material that survived through the years to be released by the Bear Family. |

I have the Lefty Frizzel biography written by Daniel Cooper. There's a chronological discography at the end of the book:
Abe first seems to appear on a session recorded on October 16, 1964.
Here's a co-write with Lefty. He sings harmony vocals:
