Guitar has sold!

Very cool 1930’s Oahu 66K Squareneck Guitar With Gig Bag & Nut Riser!

This 66K is an all mahogany squareneck guitar made for playing on your lap with a bar. Features include checkerboard body binding and rosette, pearl dot markers, and cool celluloid accoutrements. The guitar is currently tuned to open “D”. It does the whole Blind Willie Johnson thing exquisitely well. It also handles anything that you would normally play on a Weissenborn.

The guitar is well used, but fully functional. I have noticed a few repaired back cracks, a few replaced tuner buttons, and the dings, scratches, and finish checking that generally come with a used guitar this age. There is what looks like a crack running up and down through the headstock (can be seen in the photos). I have had other Oahus in the past that had the same issue. I believe that over the years that the left wing of the headstock has shifted ever so slightly. It is very stable. The guitar retains all of its original bridge pins and end pin. The number “1251” has been etched into the bottom of the guitar near the end pin. The gig bag is in excellent condition.

This Oahu is a great player with a great sound.

I am only selling because I need to pay some unexpected bills.

$599

Is this a full size guitar, or a parlor size? What scale is it?
