I use to listen to Ron at the St.Louis show every year. Always amazed at his tone and smoothness. He was one of Herby Wallace's favorites for tone. Always consistant and always good. I sure miss him as he has retired.

I don't think he played for Ray Price but he was steeler for Crystal Gail for a long time and I believe Jack Green.

In the show with Ray Price referenced in the youtube link above, the steel player is Dave Musgrave (RIP).

Ron was sure a first rate steel picker!

That was my first Mullen guitar Ron is playing. 1987 maybe?I was staff on that show.
Apparently Ron’s guitar had malfunctioned and I offered mine. Glad I did!😊
