Fender '74 Silver Face Vibrolux Reverb for sale. All original, used but not abused. Good working condition. I've got WAY too many amps, so thinning the herd a bit. I'd like to get 1600.00, a bit below what market is for these according to some research, but I'll consider offers. I'm in the Austin area, and I'm looking for a local (in Texas that means within a couple hundred miles, give or take) sale. I travel almost every weekend gigging somewhere, and a meet in the middle thing could work also. I'm not going to ship this amp, for a variety of reasons.
Before the vintage guys jump me, that tail logo may or may not be original. A '74 should have the non-tail logo I think, but that's how I got it. I do have a non-tail logo also, so I'll throw it in if the buyer wants it. Also the grill has that wonderful nicotine patina we all love. That is NOT a big stain on the bottom front center, it's some sort of camera\shadow thing.

Hey Bill,
Sophia Johnson has been looking for a real deal Vibrolux for a while. Do you know how to get ahold of her?
I have four and am STILL considering this one it looks great. Are those Alnico speakers I see back there? I've only ever had ceramic. |

Hi Shaan, I don't have Sophia's info, but feel free to forward this info. I 'think' those are also ceramic, but I'm not an expert. They're just whatever came with the amp.
I'll try to run you down on FB and let's exchange contact info? I thought I had yours but I've changed phones... or just PM from here.
Thanks! _________________ Lost Pines Studio

Those look like CTS (EIA mfg code 137) Alnico speakers. If the code is something like 13774xx (xx is the 2-digit week between 01 and 52) then they're probably the original CTS speakers. Or it could be 13773xx. My '71 has Oxfords with ceramic magnets. They used what they had on the shelf, I've seen them from that period with Oxfords, CTS, Utah, and others.
Best damned amp ever made for a Telecaster! They sound great for E9 pedal steel too, as long as I don't have to blow the doors off with clean volume. I have two, and I have stacked them for more volume. Hmmm..., wonder what a 3-amp pyramid stack would do. |

Agreed.. I had a 'twang' (pun intended) as she left with it today.. Didn't take long to start second guessing my decision to sell. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

I just recognized Sophia's name - she's friends with some people I was playing with for a few years, and she added some vocals and guitar on the first album we made - https://kristijeanmusic.com/music-videos
People have been trying to get my Vibrolux Reverbs off me for years. Hafta pry 'em outta my cold, dead fingers. |
