with all 4 knobs of the second eq section at 0 .. turning on the EQ drop dramatically the volume of the amp .. there’s quite a bit of volume drop by turning eq on .. has anybody experienced this ?

Moet likely one of the FIVE (not four) EQ filters is toast. On mine it's the first, 50Hz section that is not passing sig nal, so there is a noticeable loss in signal level.

Check each knob for boost and cut, most likely at least one is doing nothing.

I’ve owned several and they all do that. Seems like about a 15db drop in volume
