The San Antonio Steel Guitar Association resumes its monthly meetings and jam sessions, after the holiday season break.
Sunday, Feb. 12, 2:00 to 5:00 at the American Legion Post 593
326 Legion Dr W, Converse, TX. And second Sundays thereafter until November.
If you play steel, come out and jam with our backup band; if you don't, come listen and do a little dancing. Great burgers and beverages for sale, and plenty of free parking.

| Well everyone, It's been sort of a dry spell since I put anything here about the San Antonio Steel Guitar Association. We still are doing the jams on the 2nd Sunday of the month from February thru October at the American Legion Post 593, Converse, Texas, same way as when Joe Rouse, Bryon Folk and myself Kenny Piper started almost 20 years ago. I would like to say thank you to Leon Grizzard and Jordan Stern as our two new moderators keeping SASGA going. As always there is no admission and the Post is a wonderful host. We ask that everyone be ready for the down beat at 2:00 pm. Jam from 2 to 5:00pm with a break in the middle for some refreshments and lunch that the Post 593 has for a fair price. We welcome all steel players no matter what level you are at. There are always a lot of sharing and steeling steel guitar licks. |

| Just a note for the first Jam - impeccable. Jordan Stern the Professor Honky Tonk from Texas State University-School of Music, Steve Hutchins from Boerne Tx, Bill McCumber from Alice Tx, Jimmy Allen from Crystal City, Tx, Billy Phelps from Katy Tx. His wife Patty Phelps blessed us with some beautiful vocals. For the band Ronnie Crabtree of San Antonio, Tx on drum sticks , J.W. Smith of Alice, Tx. bass, Leon Grizzard of Austin Tx, lead guitar and vocals, Kenny Piper of China Grove, Tx rhythm acoustic, fiddle and vocals. What a way to kick off the first jam of the season! Love to see ya'll in the future, players and visitors. Let's keep it up! |
