Please give me some info on this psg, designed by Bud Carter.
The serial number is: 1C7199.
What year is it from?
Are there any catalogs or brochures where it is shown?
What are the controls and switch for?
When I touch one of the two pickup screws,
it buzzes. It's a Barcus Berry pickup.
Other than that, it sounds good.

Just go to the MSA Web Site, And send them an E-Mail with the serial number.

David Wright and Kyle Bennett, Have access to all of Mr. Anderson's records of MSA Guitar born dates.

1 of them may come on this post and tell you the date.
They are very good at providing information on MSA guitars.

I have 1c6712 "The Universal" and the original sales receipt for it. 1980.
David and Kyle can tell you for sure and also where/who it was sold to.

Just for information, The switch on a S12 guitar is interesting. Is it wired with a by-pass, To go through the Tone and Volume controls, Or with a flip of the switch, Will go direct?

Yes, it was a bypass..beings it'a singel neck and you want to get two different tones out of it, I used to set my country tone with amp. and then fatten up you tone i would use the tone controls to fatten it up for cords...swing, jazz...That worked great for my style playing...Then Goodrich came out with the steel driver, and used it to get the same thing.. Very Happy Very Happy

David, great looking guitar!!!! where did you find it???
David H... the black keys look great!!

Hi David W,

I bought the MSA "The Universal" from Tom Johnson who also lives in Arlington. He bought it from a guy that had purchased it from Reece Anderson and had been taking lessons from him. Tom said he had bought it, but never used it.

I replaced the Barcus Berry Pickup with a George L's E66
pickup. It sounds great.
