Hi, does anyone know what size the little bronze string holders are on the tail of a Blanton? I think I'm missing one of them... It's a tiny grooved spacer
As a side note, do you have to cut off the little loops at the end of many strings nowadays, to restring these guitars? That's what it looks like was happening with this one to me...

That little Brass grooved (spacer) is built into all steel guitar strings. When you remove the strings from the guitar,
the brass (spacer) slides off the pin and the new string has that (spacer) made into the string from the factory.
That first string (spacer) on right, Needs to be removed, So the new string (Spacer) will slide on the pin of the changer finger.
Look down in the guitar at 3rd pin from right. If the string broke on the guitar, That Brass (Spacer) and an inch or so of string may be down in the guitar and cause problems when the strings are replaced. and you start tuning the guitar.
Many people call the brass (spacer) the "STRING BALL".
Good Luck in your venture with this guitar. |
