I'm recovering the pad on an sd10. What is the best type of foam that won't break down as easy?

I do not like for my wrists/arms to bury into the pad. I want to slide smooth over the pad.
1 of the very firm Grey Foams like used in steel guitar seats may be firm enough for good support.

I have put pads on a MSA S10, And 2 S12 guitars. I made the wood thick enough that I only used, Quilt filler or Polar fleece cloth for cushion on these.

Here is the picture of 1 of the pads with a place to put my bar and picks at the key head end. Very handy and protects bar/picks from falling when parked.

The type of foam used for motorcycle seats and boat cushions works well.

Brett, I used some thin EVA foam to redo my pad. EVA is a high-density, closed-cell foam, rugged and long lasting. It's available in various thicknesses. I think I used some that was around 4 mm thick. The pad is covered with faux-suede cloth that I found in a fabric store. It's a lot more comfortable than the vinly (expecially when it's hot). It has a lower profile that doesn't get in my way like the original thick pad did.

It's mounted on offset washers that maintain some separation above the top of the cabinet.

I like memory foam kitchen mats from WalMart or Job Lots. Yes.
