Hello Friends...I have a question I could use some help with. A friend of mine has a 1978 Emmons Denim model. It's a S10 with 3 and 4. I haven't come across many of these and so I don't know if it is a special model...it is the lacquered model so that helps but he has no case for it. He is wondering what it is worth. My best guess is around 3 grand plus but I could be wrong. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards to all and Thanks in advance .
Mike

a question about the finish... is it actual denim or just formica made to look like denim? _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

It absolutely is a denim Formica. I had one exactly like this and sold it. Big mistake on my part |

A local steeler had a D10 denim Emmons. I met him at a band battle thing back in the early 80s. I was playing a basketweave Emmons D10. I wonder how many times that's happened with those 2 rare finishes in the same tonk at the same time. |

Jack and Steve are right, it's just a standard model with denim-pattern Formica. |

I once test drove a denim D10 Emmons at a local music store. It wasn't mica but actual denim cloth. It came from the factory that way. It also came with a small hole in the front part of the front neck. Brand new guitar....shipped out of the factory with a hole in the neck.

I mentioned above about seeing one at a club. I always thought it was real denim fabric too. I also thought I remembered it actually had a Levi's tag on it....but it's been 40 yrs., and some other comments here indicated it was a denim print on mica, so I wouldn't swear to anything.
We didn't get much chance to visit, but I remember he told me it was a double coil pickup guitar.
Never saw him or the guitar again. |
