I just got a new Peterson tuner, and the aspiring steeler who owns the local music store thought there might be a new E9 update available. Anyone know about that? I usually tune to standard temper then adjust by ear, but I'm open to some compensated tunings for E9 that could be faster to tune _________________ Bryce

Bryce,
What model tuner do you have?
Peterson has tempered tunings on most of their tuners, if not all.

OE9 is the original Newman E9th with A at "440". SE9 is the later Newman with A at "442.5"
I have my own "JE9" that can be downloaded from Peterson. It incorporates the SE9/SP9 into one program (plus includes some common knee lever changes that are not in the Newman's).

Thanks everyone. Looks like I'll have some fun playing around here when I am able to get home and plug this into the website to update some of the programs mentioned _________________ Bryce

I currently use U12 and P12 for my Universal 12 string.
Tunning open strings with pedals up makes my Es sharp but it seems to sound better that way for me. _________________ MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.

Bryce,
You don't need to plug into the website and update the programs, they're already installed on the tuner.

Yeah, I tuned up my Mullen with the Emmons presets. Wow! I thought my ears were pretty good, being an orchestral double bassist in a past life. But that sure dialed in all the intervals and eliminated most of the beats on certain chords that I was always tweaking and fine tuning. Something to be said for having the master do the hard work for you and putting that into a tool that's easy to use! _________________ Bryce
