Hi I have been given an unopened pack of C6th pedal strings and am wondering whether they could be used on one of my NON pedal steels without too much hassle.

If not why not, I am keen to learn?

Most PSG C6 sets are gauged for a 24" PSG scale length. If your lap steel guitar is close to that length you should be fine e.g. 24.5" etc. But 26", 25.5" & 22.5 you might have some issues with tensions.
