Due to a medical condition that I’m told has no cure and will progress I don’t expect to be playing again.
I will be selling most of my instruments over the next few months.
These next two posts for starters;
Next is this nice old set of Lap steel and Amp.
Epiphone Electar 8 string Lap Steel. Late 40’s to early 50’s. I am not sure.
Epiphone Zephyr Amplifier. Early to mid 40’s. This is the same kind of amp that Django played through. Sounds perfect with a lap steel.
I am selling as a pair for $1,900.00 OBO plus the ride.
Reasonable offers will be considered.
Selling as a set.
The Lap Steel is tuned to C6th.
Both are in nice condition for the age.
I had a local Amp shop the specializes in the old ones go through the amp about three years ago. He replaced some of the capacitors with original new old stock.
He also checked all the wiring and it works perfect.
There are a few places where the Maple veneer is needing to be glued back down to replaced in some spots.

Looked like a sale until we found out that now shipping the two packages to Australia would have cost over $2,500.00!!!   
This was the FedEx quote:
The Amp is 35 pounds well packed. 26" X 20" X 13", Cost to ship $1,502.87
The Steel is 18 pounds well packed. 37" X 13" X 8", Cost to ship $943.09
Or the 2 Lap Steels (Epiphone & Clinesmith) are 26 pounds well packed in one box. 37" X 13" X 10", Cost to ship $956.09
I could fly to Australia for less with these two and my suitcase as free baggage for just about the price of the Amplifier shipping. Oregon to Melbourne is $1,635.00 Round trip right now.
Even within the USA shipping has gone up a lot since they started blaming everything on the Covid.
I know our shipping costs for my business products (Very small light weight packages) has gone up 60% since 2019. 
If you are thinking about this check on the cost from Springfield, OR 97477 to your location first. May cost a little less on USPS or another shipper?

At Toby's suggestion I went to the post office and got way better prices than those offered by FedEx as shown below:
The Epiphone Zephyr Amplifier is 35 pounds well packed. 26" X 20" X 13”
Cost to ship $258.90
With Insurance for $950.00
The Epiphone Electar 8 string Lap Steel is 18 pounds well packed. 36" X 13" X 8”
Cost to ship $158.40
With Insurance for $950.00
Or the 2 Lap Steels (Epiphone & Clinesmith) are 26 pounds well packed in one box. 36" X 13" X 11", Cost to ship $205.70
With Insurance for $1,800.00
I hope this information may be useful to any members planning on shipping an instrument.
I don't think the post office will handle something as large and heavy as a Pedal Steel guitar. I do remember that you used to be able to send things via Greyhound bus at some good rates. Not sure if they still do that?
