Can anyone post a picture of the Blanton scissor finger mechanism?

I understand that it uses a blade instead of an axle but I would love to see a photo or a drawing of the disassembled parts.

All the posts about Blantons seem to focus on his bell cranks but I can't find a single picture that shows how the changer works.

I would be interested to know why this design hasn’t been adopted

It could be because of concerns about the long-term wear between the components.

I've often thought an axle is a waste when the rotation is only a few degrees, but it's surely more resistant to wear.

I could be wrong (which is how we learn Smile )

I'm really looking for images of the disassembled parts. I can't seem to find any pictures to see how it works aside from the blade pivot.

Hey Jim,

Can you point me at the Fender design you are referring to?

Here are photos of the first Blanton that Jerry made. It is a 1964 guitar that Jerry got back in 2000 or so as a trade-in. Jerry turned it into a loafer so I can photograph the unused C6 changer. I got this guitar from Jerry fourteen or fifteen years ago.

This is a pull-release 25" scale solid nut guitar.

Thanks Chris
I notice the finger has a rounded rotation point whereas the image I posted (again from Chris Lucker) shows a Vee shaped pivot point.
