I am (have been) working on a 26" Stringmaster neck and I needed a set of pickups for it. "Regular" Stringmaster 8 pole pickups will not fit the 26" neck with chrome pickup covers as they are too big. Yep, my Seymour Duncan Antiquity Stringmaster pickups do not fit the 26" neck Stringmasters, much to my surprise
Jerry Sentell to the rescue!!! I sent Jerry a '53 chrome ring and cover and Jerry made me a set of pickups that fit. Thank you Jerry!!!
The string spread 1 to 8 for the '53 bridge with chrome cover pickups is 2.475"
The string spread 1 to 8 for the 24.5" & 22.5" scale Stringmaster bridge is 2.614"
If you are having a pickup made for a 26" Stringmaster neck it's best to send your maker a sample pickup if you have one and the cover & ring. I didn't have a sample pickup but Jerry pulled it off. Oh, Thank you Jerry!!! _________________ Tony
