Pretty certain the bridge cover Gibson installed on the Skylarks is the same No. 500H unit dating to 1938 that was used on many prewar EH guitars. Most likely, they had a boatload of 'em sitting around and decided to use 'em up on Skylarks. A similar situation occurred with the prewar P-13 pickups that they dumped off on Harmony (among others) after they decided to use the new racetrack/wide-oval pickups in the budget model BR-9s after the war.
