I didn't want to hijack Mike H. or Nic N.'s original posts on this tune from SpongeBob ... so I started a new thread.

I've been working on this song (thanks for the Tab/Chord chart, Mike H.) for several weeks now ... This is as good as I can do it ...

I put up an earlier version a week or so ago on YouTube ... but got a "copyright claim" placed on it ... ??? ... I found that strange for a song written in the late 1800's 🤠

Excellent Rick. Your Frypan sounds great. Love the harmonics at the end.

I found the album this tune was on ... The Hiram Olsen Group featuring Nina Keali'iwahamana ...

It's on iTunes ... "Authentic Polynesia Vol 1: Hawaii & Tonga" ... Track 2 is Nina singing it and Track 26 is the instrumental by Casey.

I bought it yesterday ... a lot of great songs for the $$$ 😎

Hiram was Jerry Byrd's rhythm guitarist and Nina is a legend ...

Sounds awesome, man! You’ve perfected your vibrato. Unbelievable.
That guitar has a magic quality about it.

Thanks man ... Mr. Green

I have responded well to the Levodopa/Carbidopa .... I get progressively worse as the day goes on though ... so I get up early, early ... and practice, recording everything in case I get lucky ... like this one ... ha, ha

Thanks again for the kind words ...

PS: For you SpongeBob fans ... Moloka'i Nui, Stack of Leis, Kamakani, O Makalapua, Alekoki and On the Beach are on that album too ... you'll recognize them instantly ... along with lots of snippets featured in the cartoon ... truly a SpongeBob smorgasbord Whoa!

Yes, very beautiful playing Rick. I don't know the Hawaiian language and am curious as to the meaning of the name of this song. Thanks!
