FYI .... Charles King's classic book of Hawaiian melodies (1923 edition) is available for free viewing and download here: https://archive.org/details/kingsbookofhawai00king

It's in bass and treble clef so it's a tad less accessible to some, but this was the Hawaiian music bible for the early steel players and bands.

Tom, you simply highlight the website or YouTube URL link with your mouse and copy it. Then, paste the link into a forum post.

When I first saw "King's Hawaiian", I immediately though of the dinner rolls and sliders!

This is a lot cooler. What a find.

Thank you so much for posting this, Andy, I already own a newer version of that book, great to see the original version that was mentioned quite a bit in how influential it was to many Hawaiian musicians.
I was always wondering about that book though, it doesn't contain so many of the tunes that where recorded back in the days in the 20s and 30s. Many of the songs in the book are unfamiliar to me. Is it only me or do other forum mates feel the same ?
