I've had mine for 52 years and used it extensively. Bushings are still tight. I've replaced the string twice and pot several times. There's not that much to them. I modified mine by shortening the post where the string connects and added a roller onto it. Then brought the string over the roller and anchored it to the inside body of the pedal with a spring to keep the tension consistent. Works great. Instead of the string being anchored, I tied a spring to the end of the string and anchored the spring to the body of the pedal. I used nylon cord for string.
I don't know what the Nashville repairman is trying to say. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

Sounds to me this guy is trying to sell a new one...ran into this type before.
Maybe he doesn't know about them...ran into one like this before.
Suggest he take it somewhere else.....only thing I ever had to replace on one is the broken string...other than that they seem to work well for many, many years

Hey George. Don't know how helpful this is. I'll just show & tell and you can ask for more pics or specs if you want. This has been in pieces in a box for 15 years, as I bought it, waiting for me to build it back up.
Screw goes thru the bushing, thru the big hole in the treadle, into the small tapped hole in the base.

Years ago, I bought a dis-assembled Sho-Bud pedal at a flea market. I paid 3 or 4 dollars for it. There were no bushings, but all the rest of the parts were there. I just cut 2 short pieces of brass rod, drilled a holes in the center of them, put on a washer and a screw, and put the pedal back together. Later, I sold it for much more than I paid. |

I repaired a Sho Bud Pedal a friend gave me a couple of years ago both of the bushings were gone and an exact replacement seemed to be imposable to find. I happened to have an old pair of crutches from an accident my son had. as I was moving them around I noticed the brass buttons in the hight adjustment holes upon removing one I found it was hollow and had a sholder on the end not visable. a drill bit and a couple of min.I had a perfect bushing.
