Finally got my first D10 done, took a nice while, most of it was cut using a jigsaw and WD40 for coolant, but some stuff was made using a milling machine when I had the opportunity. Needless to say it's a fun hobby and I wonder how many more I will do!! _________________ Guitar Built by me! |

That is some very nice work sir! I am almost embarrassed when I think how sloppy some of my stuff looks in comparison. Did you follow a plan? |

Hi Nicholas,
I like what you did with the screw to hold in the cross shafts.
Never seen that before and I like the idea.
Less heavy than other ways I've seen and they look easy to remove the shaft when needed.
Perhaps I'll use that some time. Great thinking always comes up with a simple answer.

Thanks Tim, no I didn't follow a plan, just built a couple guitars over time and tweaked the design as I went and jotted rough notes down. My first couple guitars were very sloppy so it wouldn't be embarrassed about anything, everyone gotta start somewhere,
Thanks Andy, I think I seen this first on some older Show Pro guitars, so I can't take credit for the idea, it does cut down on the weight a lot, I haven't weighed my guitar yet, maybe I will when I find a working scale and post it on here. I've only ever played one real steel guitar in my life and it was a converted Sho Bud Professional by Duane Marrs (the one that Lloyd Green is pictured sitting behind) and that guitar was very very heavy by comparison to mine. _________________ Guitar Built by me! |

Looks as "Pro" as many which have been sold in the past as "Pro".
Congrats!... J-D. _________________ __________________________________________________________

Thank you everyone for your kind words, currently thinking about building a nice SD10 for myself now, just have to think it all over before i starts it.
Ian: i think it's just the coating on the welding rods I used.
