Built the steel last year and the stand several years ago. Legs are from Mark Roeder who no longer is in business. I had another steel on it, but thought the chrome, stainless, and aluminum fit this lapsteel much better. Body is 3/4" thick. It is so thin the clamping brackets were about flush with the top of the body and my left hand would sometimes brush the bracket. I had some silicone dots for kitchen cabinet bumpers left over and stuck those to the stand to jack up the body 1/4". That did the trick.

Andy, the legs I bought when Deluxe 34 was in business. I made 2 mounting plates with 1/2-13 tapped holes for the legs to screw in. They are mounted to the center rail which is 80/20 aluminum "T" slot rail. It has various manufacturers. Bosch Rail, T slot rail, etc. What ever brand you use, buy their hardware for it. They don't make it universal.... I have a close up of the nut that slides in the rail. I made two slotted plates to hold the adjustable clamps. The black balls have 1/4-20 studs sticking out and the balls and are there to tighten the clamps. Where I work, they throw much usable stuff out, so other than the legs....(which were not cheap) it was like Johnny Cash's song.......I got it one piece at a time.........you just have to be patient till the right piece of trash turns up. You know, one Man's trash is another Man's treasure.

The stand aside, I'm digging the lap steel. I'm a fan of the string through pickup.
Nice work on that steel. It's far from the "slab of wood with strings"
