I have the exact same guitar. Same vol/tone knob configuration, same bolt-on back, same CC (unbound) PU type, same case. His serial no. puts it slightly earlier than mine - should be late ~1935/early 1936.
I don't have the matching amp (rats!) , but it will be interesing to see what this thing brings.

I have the exact guitar also. I'm sure it is an EH-150. I also have another with the same body appearance but with a lesser deluxe appearance, (possibly an EH-100 ?)Both are fine instruments and I too, will be interested to see how much this one fetches. Doesn't that old amp make you juat want to drool ? |

George - the picuted steel (and mine as well) is in fact an EH-150. The EH-150 had the Charlie Christian pickup. The EH-100 had a while single coil pickup. Other than that and the binding, it's the same body. |

Steve...I guess I must have something other than an EH-150. I have the same model pictured in eBay which must be the EH-150 as you state. However, I also have a more deluxe model, (both have the 'Charlie Christian' p/u). This (mystery) model has duo upper and lower ivory trim, (whereas the EH-150 has only the upper trim), has a white plastic border trim all around the p/u and has an inlay design under the word "Gibson" on the headstock...anyone know what model this one is ? I thought this mystery model was the EH-150. They are identical as far as design and sunburst, both have the removeable backs...and the same size and style of case as shown on eBay. |

George: They're both EH-150's. Is the peghead design a diamond split by an 'H'? Also, what's the serial number? |

Hi Ian...I suspected as much but wasn't really sure. The single trim model has a serial #505-1 and the double trim has serial #622-33. What do those numbers tell you ? I'd be interested to know. Also, the inlay on the head of the more deluxe model is exactly as you described. Thanx pal. |

George: What do the serial numbers tell me? Not much, unfortunately. Some pre-war Gibson lap steels use the same serial number system as other Gibson instruments of the period, but others don't. Going by other features, though, your guitars are likely both from the period 1936-1937. Beautiful things, aren't they? |

well the sale did'nt go through.
the 1500$ reserve was not met.
that EH150 + amp only reached 600 $
What would you consider a reasonable price ?
1500 $ seemed a bit stiff to me.
Nice axe tho'...

I was not able to view the photos, for some reason, so really can't judge the value of this particular guitar and amp. Certainly $1500 isn't unreasonable for an EH-150 combo in excellent condition. I'd be very hesitant to buy such a thing over the internet for that money, though. In my experience, only a small minority of these amps still sound any good, but the ones that do are outstanding. |
