Just stumbled upon a newer (2021) album from Charles Lloyd (jazz saxophone player) with some tasty pedal steel by Greg Leisz and guitar by Bill Frisell. If you're into jazz worth a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rph7fvr6Y5w

Steel is really tricky to incorporate into a jazz setting without sounding corny. Greg is one of the few I have heard who can pull it off.

A really great sax player I know sent me this video of the Marvels playing a live concert with Greg on steel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMSVYi4FD5o

Yes, I agree... Leisz melds very well with the Charles Lloyd style.

Joseph, I've posted that same solo in the past. I especially like the second half, starting at 29:30. Shenandoah is such a great song for pedal steel and they gave him a few minutes to do his thing in a relaxed way.

As usual, he doesn't do anything too tricky, but it's always appropriate and tasteful.
