Aside from the fact Fred was one of the greatest steel guitar talents ever he was a genuine wonderful person and a man who lived his faith. Always enjoyed our visits with Fred and Brenda in Mesa, and at the shows. He will be sorely missed.
Love 'ya buddy!

Sorry to hear this sad news! Fred Justice was a Great Guy, builder, player and loved The Steel Guitar! He was like family to so many of us. He built custom cases for my 14 stringer Steel, when I couldn't find anyone else to build what I wanted. Prayers for his Family and many Friends! RIP Fred Justice we love You! |

I have known Fred over 20 years and from the first Phoenix Steel Guitar Show on we have been friends. He introduced me to steel guitar players. From the time I bought steelseats and he had started his pedal steel guitar company we road up and down the road together a lot. Ten years ago or so we start riding to Baxter Springs and to Branson shows in addition to the Dallas Show. Too many experience to list on here.
I watched him change his life.
R I P my friend I will see you again one day. _________________ Joe Naylor, Avondale, AZ (Phoenix) Announcer/Emcee owner www.steelseat.com *** OFFERING SEATS AND Effects cases with or without legs and other stuff ****** -Desert Rose Guitar S-10, Life Member of the Arizona Carport Pickers Assoc., Southwest Steel Guitar Assoc., Texas Steel Guitar Assoc., GA Steel Guitar Assoc., KS Steel Guitar Assoc. It’s a strange and sad feeling when you loose a fellow steel player. It leaves a hole in the heart.
When Fred played he had a Jerry Byrd touch/vibrato. Always a nice guy and wasn’t afraid to proclaim his Christ.
This one is for Fred and played on a JUSTICE.

I am deeply shocked but not surprised. Fred has for some time had to battle health issue and is now in a place where there is no pain or suffering.
I first met Fred in St Lois steel show in 2007 where he was a rep for MSA. He was partly responsible for me ordering my SD10 Legend and before I received it in April 2008 in Mesa he announced to me that he would be building his own Justice steels which immediately became very popular.
Fred loved people, music and food and above all, loved God and not shy to share his faith with all he came in contact with. I was blessed to call Fred and Brenda close friends and be able to have many great times together. Myself and Marilyn’s prayers go out to Brenda and family. |

So sorry to hear about Fred. I always enjoyed hearing him play "And Justice For All".
It was exactly what a steel guitar well played should sound like.
Condolences to his family & all who knew him.
