Very sad we have lost another steel player an friend too the steel guitar community.
Ronnie Neighbors an I have been friends since 1981.
Ronnie an I talked for years a couple times a week.
Ronnie had the largest music store in Hot Springs Arkansas for 25 years.
Ronnie after years of owning every brand of steel guitar.
Finally Ronnie found the steel an amp that he was in love with.
Old Sho Buds D 10 an Sd 10.
An Fender Bass head amps 1967 an 1968 models.
Rest In Peace my friend

Heartbreaking for sure that Ronnie left us too soon. Ronnie was my source for all kinds of musical goodies back when I first started my own recording setup. I was about 15 whenever I started my own multi-track recordings. I can remember buying Roland keyboards, amps, and anything else I could get a deal on. And he would always give me a great deal.

Ronnie was a fine player too. He had no problems playing any song, any intro, turnaround....and he always had a great tone. Seriously, one of the better players to ever play from our home state of Arkansas.

Sincerely,
Zane

Johnie & Sue - we are so sorry to hear that your life long friend has passed. I can hear the pain in your post. Praying for God’s strength and peace for you both, all others who were touched by Ronnie’s friendship, and especially his family.

Very sad news. I attended his shows in Hot Springs for years. Ronnie had some of the best players at his show. I also enjoyed his store and buying countless gear while there. Truly a friend and great supporters of steel guitar. RIP Ronnie.

I had just recently been wondering about Ronnie. I met Ronnie on my senior class trip 30 years ago. He was playing in (and probably running, IIRC) a Branson-type show in Hot Springs which all 13 of my class members attended. He caught my attention as a GREAT picker (after all these years, the only particular thing I remember was him playing finger-style guitar on Pam Tillis' "Put Yourself In My Place"), and I went up and visited with him at intermission. He was such a nice fella and a great musician. I had always hoped to run across him again, especially after I took up steel guitar. My condolences to his family and friends.
