Beato interviews Derek Trucks: probably the best music interview I’ve ever watched. Intelligent, humble, insightful, soulful, and mentions many of my music heroes, with a great list of songs to search out (if you take notes). _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

He mentions Jesse "Ed" Davis which is on of my favorite guitar players. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Thanks for sharing, Joachim. Great article! I used to devour Hit Parader when I was a kid (which I gotta admit was just a tad before 1970). |

You're welcome, Jack. Maybe you have heard this Haggard song from him. It's slide, tuned to D and pretty easy to play, of cource the nuances are totally Jesse.

Wow, Brooks! Thanks for the link. Another great piece, and an upcoming book to look forward to. If for no other reason than inspiring Duane Allman to take up slide guitar by copying his licks note for note, Jesse belongs in the R & R HOF (in my opinion). One of the relatively unknown greats, dead far too soon.
Joachim, yes, I had that LP back in the day. Great stuff. |
