Console Eight, model 1008. Only documented in the 1959 catalog but was probably built a year or so either side of that. There should be a metal tag on the back with a datable serial number. |

Many thanks Noah. After I read your reply it clicked right off - serial number! I checked the tables and they put this as a 1960. Guitar is in amazing shape and sounds like a guitar from that era should. Thanks again. Eric _________________ GFI S-10 Ultra (GFI II pickup)

My 1960 Supro has that case, if that's any indication. Minus the section for the legs... |

Beautiful steel! It looks a lot like my 1964 Supro Jet Airliner — same, shape, fretboard, legs and case. |

It sounds as good as it looks. Old guitar - good ole sound!

I have a black Supro cousin from the Valco/Chicago factory with the same body shape, fingerboard design, legs, pickup -- previous owner told me it was from 1958. Your National appears to have keystone (Gibson-style) tuners rather than round-button tuners. |

Man, Eric! You could go full Freddie Roulette with that thing.
I had a double 8 many years ago but it was SO heavy. Always wanted a single like that. Always saw black&white ones, never albino like yours.

Hi Kevin, the pickup in the guitar is in perfect shape and sounds great. Through a tube or solid state amp it sounds equally well. I did a quick search online and couldn’t find one. Hope all is well. EO _________________ GFI S-10 Ultra (GFI II pickup)
