Joyo ZGP and effects chain hum/noise

While trying to find a solution to an effects chain problem I'm presently pulling my hair out over, I stumbled across this little gadget.

It is a small device that plugs in series with your 9 vdc supply line.
It appears to be some kind of a transformer/isolator.
It was cheap ($20) so I got two of them as an experiment.

I don't have any conclusions yet.
Internet research tends to indicate that as with all effects noise/hum problems, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Has anyone seen or used these?
Any thoughts?

ajm I have the perfect answer for you. Read the following article it will open your eyes as it opened mine. The devices you bought will not solve ground loop problems. Other than single coil pickups, and bad guitar cords 99.9% of problems are caused by ground loops in either the building receptacle, or powered devices in the signal chain. Powered devices from the guitar to the amp. Read the whole article, by Bill Whitlock----it took all of the mystery about noise in audio away. Trust me, the article will help you understand what is happening.
