I recently purchased a 2001 Marlen S-10. While I love the steel, it's a little high for me and my short legs. I am looking for suggestions as to where to purchase new legs. Thanks. _________________ 2001 Marlen S-10, 2020 Zumsteel Encore, Melbert 6 string Roundabout, Evans E250HV Amp |

Thanks Jerry. I had found that site. I just wasn't sure if anyone had used this company. Decent price for 4 legs. I guess I'll try the chrome over alloy. _________________ 2001 Marlen S-10, 2020 Zumsteel Encore, Melbert 6 string Roundabout, Evans E250HV Amp |

You're welcome. Disclaimer: I have not personally used these, but there are many good reviews of the man and the product posted here on the forum. Perhaps some of them will post. |

You could drive/ship it to Billy Cooper, Billy Knowles, Johnnie King or somebody relatively close, you'll need shorter legs and pedal rods. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Not so fast... Won't you also need a set of shorter pull rods?
That or a hack saw, file and a die to cut new threads? Not so easy if the rods are chromed!
If you have to buy them Michael at PSG Parts would be a good place to get them.

Hello Paul B, I purchased my second set about 3 or 4 months ago from that website. However, I’ve just now heard from a builder that possibly there’s a problem getting raw materials for the legs. This comes not directly from me but from the previously mentioned, reputable, secondary source. |

If you are going to cut a set of rods shorter, Check the threads very close, Many pedal rods have rolled threads. They are larger diameter than die cut threads and will be a very sloppy fit. If you die cut new threads.
When they roll threads 1/2 of the thread depth goes down into the rod, And 1/2 of the thread height is squeezed up out of the rod. |

Steven & Paul, I was checking and unfortunately, he doesn’t reply to me either. This is out of the ordinary, I’m sure it isn’t intentional. |

I have a set of unbelievably short legs (17") that came with a steel I bought a year ago.
Probably TOO short, but when I bought longer legs the supplier couldn't believe I had legs this short, so I took this pic! Just had to share this...

Ray was a great supplier for good legs to many of us. He has had severe trouble with the supply chain and cannot get them made anymore. I am not sure if it will happen in the future but we sure will be in contact. I have taken the plunge again and ordered in legs. They are available on our site and we only have the 1/2-13 threads. We can make shorter ones if needed otherwise they are all standard length. We only have the steel ones also.

Trying to keep the supply around..... The World sucks right now! |

Thanks for the reminder. Michael's site looks like a great place to get the rods. _________________ 2001 Marlen S-10, 2020 Zumsteel Encore, Melbert 6 string Roundabout, Evans E250HV Amp |

I don't know of any builder that chrome-plates their pedal rods?

Quentin, you might want to check this recent thread: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=396820. I have alloy legs for my PP and I don't detect any more flex, no real difference between them and steel except the weight. _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |
