I`ve used Peavey 112, Fender Silverface Twin and Silverface Deluxe Reverb so far and after using the Tonemaster Deluxe for Steel and Tele I`m very happy with it, considering to buy a second one.
Great Amp, sounds right and has enough headroom for me on any stage i`m on.

Interesting. 170 hits and it seems no one else has yet tried this amp? I've got a suspicion it would be a good stage amp for small to medium venues mic'd through the mains.

I played guitar through a Tonemaster Deluxe in a music store and I liked what I heard. I too am curious to hear whether or not it has enough headroom for a medium sized room pedal steel gig. They weigh 23 lbs, the Quilter Mach 3 weighs 21 lbs. At 200 watts, I would bet that the Quilter would be fine for a pedal steel, but I am not sure which one would sound best for a 6 string guitar gig. I'll be curious to hear more about them, hopefully more people will chime in on this post.

The TM Deluxe has an XLR out w/ cab simulation, no mic needed. I have a TM Deluxe in my bedroom with the power set to 12W and the volume at 2.8, at 22w and same volume ( 2.8 ) it would be way too loud for me.

I have both the TM Deluxe and Twin.
Deluxe is good for guitar but hands down the Twin is better for steel.

Been playing a deluxe almost a year with lapsteel. Plug into the vibrato channel 2 volume on 5 with a volume pedal. Like it a lot, Works nice with a delay and a fuzz if I want to. Love carrying it. Am completely happy with it for lap steel. The twin is too large physically for what I need but may be better for pedal steel for some. Would not want to be involved if the deluxe wasnt big enough.

It's my main rig for both Tele and steel in the Ronstadt Revue. We're always miked and I have no headroom issues. For fly dates I'm now using the new UA Dream pedal, which is a great knockoff of a 65 DR in a double pedal-sized box. I store one preset for steel and the other for Tele.

Jim, it's the Tonemaster Deluxe right? Not the Tonemaster Twin?

Thanks Jim. You've confirmed my suspicion. I am always mic'd also. Stage volume is low.
