After going thru multiple line ups 2 of the last 3 years, playing mostly places where its ok to piss behind the equipment trailer- we hit a real" live music joint" in Raliegh,on an emergency fill in job, this past Saturday( opening act,6:30-9:30 time slot)...you gotta understand,we are a bunch of backwoods country boys...
We are WAY more country than what mostly plays there- but were well recieved, had 'em pumped when the main act came on.Sound man dabbles in pedal steel as well, we were on the same page.
We have been offered multiple dates for this time slot thru the end of the year.
There was about 15 or so of our regulars that showed, but we kept 75 -100 hopping thru the first set ( supper crowd)and had 200 + singin along and dancing midway 2nd set.
I know this is nothing compared to many bands accomplishments- but to be out of our element, and get big love from this venue,is all i could ever dream of.
I hope all of you get happiness like this from music somehow. |

It's fun to play when the venue and crowd likes what you're doing. They push you to play better and you push them to appreciate the band better. _________________ Remembering Harold Fogle (1945-1999) Pedal Steel Player

Good for you! You had a good time, played some good music, and the crowd liked you. Nobody can do more than that, and your milestone performance will hopefully be the first of many. |
