Hey,

I've seen this asked before, but I know the teachers change, etc.

So, I'm an experienced musician, but can always use help on technique and vocabulary, especially. Both dobro and non-pedal steel (especially C6, E13, western swing, old country, blues, etc).

Any suggestions? First hand experience?

One on one, via Zoom or Facetime would be best, as I have a bit of a unique background, musically, and play full-time. Most set courses have a lot of info I already know.

Thanks!

I'd lean towards Troy Brenningmeyer maybe...you can get a test drive of his teaching by watching his videos. Alan Akaka is also great but is less generalized and basically primarily teaches Hawaiian style. I feel like Troy does a variety of genres which sounds like what you might be after.

Speaking as as a dobro player, if you already know your way around a fretboard and want to dive deep, quickly it would be Mike Witcher you need to see/talk to.

I've witnessed him teaching classes at ResoSummit and say his methods are spot on.

A great young player who's well known/respected by his teaching and performance peers.
