N-112 DI levels

I've been using the N-112 DI in small and mid-sized venues. Comes really handy for in ears as well.

The issue I have is that the amp's input gain (which also controls the DI level) is VERY sensitive and I'm almost always over driving the PA board's first gain stage. The DI level is way too hot.

Using the 112 low gain input helps as long as I can still get an adequate stage level by really cranking up the master, but..doesn't work on larger stages.

So...Looking for other solutions and thinking that an inline, lo-imp mic attenuator would be useful in this case. I see that many are nominally -10db.

Any thoughts on this. Am I on the right track?

On the other hand, I note the my GK MB200's DI, independent from any gain controls, presents a very comfortable output signal.

FWIW..My testing was done driving an audio interface into my DAW.

Sanity check??

Forgive me for answering my own question.

After digging into the DI spec. I assumed I was dealing with a typical mic imp/level. I am not. The output impedence is "greater than 5kohms".

Grabbed an XLR- 1/4 inch adapter. Plugged into a line input and VOILA.

Have a lot more flexibility now.

I believe the adapter will do the trick.
