The LDG

I just saw a picture of Ricky Davis' LDG and it made me remember the one guitar I lusted after so intensely, yet never got one. Sort of like the little red haired girl in sixth grade. I have had ShoBuds, but never got around to getting that LDG. Sad I guess. Maybe someday.

I have two, one from October 73 (first year) that my wife gifted to me for my 60th birthday this year. It belonged to an older player in a town near where I live and seems to be in immaculate condition. The second one is a 77 model that a friend alerted me to in an estate sale in pretty rough shape and missing a few pieces. I took it to Jeff at Show Pro and he got it going again, including changing out the changer fingers for aluminum replacements with the string pin as opposed to the string ball wedge. Both great guitars.

I also have a Show Pro version and it's a great guitar, it just doesn't have the juju of the old Buds.

I hope you can find one some day!
