What bass amp would you recommend? Looking for one that is light weight and doesn't cost a whole bunch...

Hi Ford. For bass or pedal steel...or both? I like my GK MB500 for both...depending on your need, the 200 might work (and can usually be found around $200 or less).

Cheap and light - the Traynor SB110, SB112, or SB115 (depending on what speaker size you like) punch way outside their price point imo. I've often preferred my SB112 to amps costing 3 or 4 times as much.

For bass guitar, I like the Fender Rumble 100. 100 watts, 12" speaker, amazing sound and volume and weighs about 25 pounds. I never tried steel guitar through it and sold it when I quit playing bass.

We have an MB200 and a 12" SICA speaker that my wife uses with her Martin for rhythm. We were at a celebration of life for a musician friend. A bass player, with a 5 string, borrowed it for the celebration jam and loved it.

I can honestly NOT recommend a Mark Bass amp for pedal steel. I had a Little Mark 250 Blackline head. And it was sorriest piece of doo doo for pedal steel. They are awesome bass amps, but suck for steel.

I’m using a Fender Rumble 200 (200 watts, 1 - 15”). I keep the silly “tweeter” switched off and it sounds great. Amazingly lightweight! I love it!
