Are they really that much better tone wise than any out there. A guy that knows so many people around the globe that is a pro picker and has worked at a music store for over 26 years told me none other compares in tone. Where can i find a couple?
Thanks,
Gary

Gary,
I have a few of The Nationals you speak of. I will trade you a couple of sets for the push pull parts you have.

I used Dulops for years but went to the reissued National NP2 picks back in the spring and have no intention of changing.

I like the reissued National's (which are supposed to be like the originals) better than the Showcase 1941's which are supposed to be original National copies.

I consider "vintage" fingerpicks to be in the same category as $100 guitar cords, $6000 "relic'd" reissue guitars and "signature model" premium fuzzboxes - I guess you get what you pay for, at least inside your own mind? If I had known years ago that you could actually make a living taking hammers and blowtorches to $2000 guitars to turn them into $6000 guitars, I would've made some different career choices, that's for sure. They're picks, for pete's sakes - what are you planning to play with them?

I ordered some of the Showcase 1941 picks and the National NP2 resissues from Elderly , both are really nice picks. They look identical but feel slightly different .
The National pick reissues package says made of stainless steel and they seem a tad stiffer than the Showcase ones , which packaging says they are made from German nickel silver and hand buffed

I bought mine from Janet Davis in Arkansas. I've bought several times from them without problems. http://www.janetdavismusic.com/finpiks.html

My sentiments, exactly. Choose what's comfortable, and then move on to something significant.
