That was a new one to me Ron, so I just checked it on SW Sound. Looks good, great recommendations.
But I wonder how it tracks steel . . .
I play an H & K Rotosphere but that is not made any more. |

I have been using the Line 6 Rotochoir for many years. It doesn't really sound like a B3, but I have fooled many to think it was an organ, including the keyboard player that sometimes plays with my band.

I would say that the Neo Ventilator is the absolute best for emulating a Leslie rotary sound. I use it with a remote “half moon” speed control switch that I can hit with my right hand.
Quite apart from the “Leslie” thing is the voice of a real B3. I’m using the EX B9 pedal to get the rich harmonics of the organ. The B9 uses compression for its sustain and so the volume pedal should be after it. This complicates things for us Steelers who need the volume pedal early in the chain. I went to a stereo volume pedal so both my “steel” and “B3” chains had its own. Also using a “tone control” pedal to emulate the B3’s drawbars.
My rig is more complex than most, but it gives me what I need...

Time out. Just to clarify......
Do you want the sound of a rotary speaker?
Or do you want your (I assume) steel to sound like an organ?
The two are not the same. |
