Just a FYI… A while back I started a thread asking for suggestions on stools for a short lap steel player. Being 5’ 6” tall I found that most stools that I have come across have just been too tall. They wouldn’t allow the guitar to sit level on on legs. After trying a few different options, I came across pedicure technician stools. They generally have a adjustable seat height of 13”-16”. I found this range to be perfect for me. I have found them for sale on different salon supply shop websites and Amazon.

Do you have a link for the 2nd pictured chair? Which one did you buy?

Hi Bill,

I purchased one like the stool pictured in the first photo. I basically choose it based on the price. It was cheaper than the others. These stools are available from different places. Just Google “pedicure technician stool”. The one that you are interested in is called a “UMI Salon Pedicure Stool” by one reseller. I think that one goes from 13”-15”.

Here are two links that I came across with a quick search. It appears that the stool is a little cheaper via the first link at the moment (although there may be a shipping charge):

UMI SALON PEDICURE STOOL:

Here’s a YouTube video showing assembly. It may give you more of an idea of what the stool is actually like:
