What would an appropriate value be on a 70s msa classic s12 be. It's 6 and 4 set up universal tuning with cowboys 0 pedal.

In excellent condition and if a case is included, I would guess around $1500-$1700.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Prices for both new and used pedal steel guitars have gone up significantly in the past couple of years!

And with that in mind, I'd say the value would be $1,600 to $2,000 if it's a plywood/'mica body, and $2,000 to $2,400 if it's the solid maple body.

Thanks guys. It's a mica guitar. But it's in good condition with original case.

Those guitars are built like tanks. The only caution might be, if you want to add any changes I am just GUESSING, it is probably hard to find parts.

Also guessing, but Jim Palenscar used to be a good source for MSA parts, if I recall correctly.

Start off at $2500.00 & go up from there. You can't replace it for that. You might decide to keep it, if it sets awhile. But if you give it away, it'll be gone a long time...

Old MSA Steel guitars are a good hedge against inflation.
