I have an old Sho~Bud volume pedal that is scratched and oxidized.

Who do we all know that can restore this ? (removing/buffing out the scratches, polishing, new rubber foot pad, black lettering, new pot, etc, etc)

Tim,

The tricky part will be finding a new pot, assuming that the existing one can't be cleaned.

I am in the process of of refurbing mine and couldn't find a pot anywhere! Bradshaw is out of them and he told me he didn't know of anyone who had one.

I found this on ebay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/234517392932?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D0cd4009563a14aa7acd4ffb6d66fa830%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D265663293862%26itm%3D234517392932%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DAllen-Bradley&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A636332bd-c688-11ec-8d77-4e310646f6fc%7Cparentrq%3A6d8657b91800a36981edccdbfffdf0b2%7Ciid%3A14

It has not arrived yet, but it should work okay it is new old stock and it is a 500K J like the one I pulled out, only no stop internally.

I cleaned mine up with Mothers Mag polish, about an hour or so of rubbing, no bigee. Cleaned the rubber with ST100 motorcycle washing spray.

It turned out decent for a 45 year old pedal.

If you decide on the DIY route, here is how the string goes, I use fishing fly line. Not a very difficult project.

Good luck,

John

Yeah, I see, that is going to require sanding and then some time on a buffing wheel!
It won't be cheap if you do find somebody!

You might try Jeff Surrat over at SHOW~PRO.

Good luck!

That is why I like my clip on so much!

If you want a nice SHO~BUD clip on Wayne Dahl has one for sale on this forum. As I recall, it was reasonably priced.

Hey John did that pot you linked work out ok? I have a dead Bud pedal and need to replace the pot. Hoping this is the solution.

Thanks!
