Emmons participated more than many pros, and some of them don't participate at all. So I think it's somewhat disingenuous to say he thought of it as a waste of time.
But what do I know? |

Say it ain't so. It is only a waste of time if you don't have anything to add, which you, always have something to add and extra knowledge for the beginners. Think of it as a teaching moment, not a waste of time. Don't give up on the community, PLEASE _________________ Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown |

I'm sorry Chris. If you are serious in this post you probably won't come back and read our replies. Sometimes I think the amount of "Thank Yous" has declined. They are very important to feel accepted. But still I hope you will return! _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Lol, I don't think any of us on here are on the same level with Buddy. Buddy gave more than he could receive on the forum. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

Very true, Dennis.
I never felt that Buddy was a man who reveled in his 'celebrity status', nor did he feel the need to reinforce it. When he shared his thoughts with us it always struck me as a generous expenditure of his personal time that benefitted us, not him.
Having said that, I do hope we haven't lost Chris. He's a real asset to this Forum. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

In the early days of the Forum, Buddy always answered questions that were posed to him, was always appreciated, I printed out many of his responses for posterity's sake along with a few from Speedy West and the Great Sneaky Pete. _________________ Regards, Craig

I'll miss Chris. We had several good conversations and I found him to be most helpful, and with a positive attitude on the forum,
very forthcoming about his relationship with Buddy, who I almost felt I got to know virtually here, and didn't seem to think it a waste of time.
Both were assets to the community. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

I must say interesting comments, But If you read and study the Archives like I have during research on various topics. You very quickly realize how much this “Forum” has contributed to this great instrument. By that I mean from the members themselves that have passed on their experiences and vast knowledge.
So it is not about anyone coming or going “ Its about the PSG” _________________ Mullen SD10, Sho~Bud SD10 LDG, Show-Pro SD10 LDG, Peavey Nashville 112, Boss Katana 100 MK11, Telonic's F100 Multi-Taper Super Pro V/P, Wayne Brown “Custom Designed Amp” |

I kinda, sorta agree. The television programs we do like are recorded on the DVR and watched later.
That way we can fast-forward through all the annoying commercials/advertisements.
Spending time on the Forum is definitely not a waste of time. Although, I may spend too much time on the Forum!

I never understood people announcing that they are leaving a forum. If I dont like something about a certain forum I just change the station so to speak.Usually its because something somebody said made someone mad so they announce they are leaving, just go.This is the first time I heard someone announce they are leaving because someone says its "a waste of time".But Craig Stock said "go on the forum" why does Bu=ddy have more influence? |

I haven't owned a TV in 30 years. I have bought, sold and traded quite a few instruments during that time though....
TV would have probably been cheaper, but not nearly as satisfying.

I think we need to add a new section, similar to the "Gone Home" section. It can be the "I'm Gone" section where everyone can have an "Airing of Grievances" I've got a lot of problems with you people. |

Buddy was like a cat. Hang him upside down by his feet and drop him. He would land on his feet. Others just land on their head. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |
