Hello all, so i play lap steel in open D. 6 string. i have the opportunity to pick up a 6 string pedal steel with just 2 pedals, and no knee levers, ( i tried a carter starter once, it was too much for me, i dont want more pedals and levers) so my question is tuning. whats even close to open d in 6 string with an A and B pedal? I want to buy this but im really stuck thinking about tunings that will work for me and what i play,. mostly things like beatles, the band, john denver, joihnny cash, etc. songs like wagon wheel, charlie and the MTA, etc.

Take a look at D6, with the pedals down it becomes a G chord. I’ve used this on a lap steel with Certano bender.

A B D F# A D becomes A B D G B D

Or use Bob's D/G tuning with A and B pedals.
Lo-hi G B D F# A D

Pedals down is G B D G B D
