There are some cool Transcriptions on Paul Franklin's Bakersfield series where he lowers the 7th 1/2, but I can't find out which lever is used. I have seen it referenced on RKR, and on a P4 on the internet. I can always slide the 7th, but it's not as convenient.
Suggestions?
Thanks

Talked to John at Mullen. We concluded lower 7th at RKL, I'll let you know how that goes. It's for a lick, not a chord... _________________ Bryce

Bryce, I've had a similar change, (actually the whole lower of 7 down to E) for years now... I don't use it as often as I perhaps should cause it sounds great. Anyhow, I have Emmons set up with E's on the left knee and that particular change is a Left Staggered Knee, on the back apron, while the E raise is ahead of that closer to the middle of the guitar, or that vicinity. _________________ Dale Rottacker, Steelinatune™

I like the lower on string 7 and I use it a lot, both half-step and whole step. I have it on RKL along with lowering 2 & 9, and raising 12 to F#. |

Do you split the whole tone lower of it with a half tone raise on opposite leg? |

Dan Galysh designed a copedent in 2010 and he put that change (lower F# to F) on RKL together with the standard sixth string lower G# to F# that a lot of players have on RKL.

I may be wrong but doubt Paul lowers the 7th string a half tone.. his RKR raises 1&7 a whole tone and 2 a half tone if this is also used with his P4 ( Franklin Pedal, it lowers 5,6, &10 a whole tone) maybe this will help you find that lick you’re looking for. _________________ I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.
I received my education, drivin through the Nation listenin to Paul!.. ( Franklin that is! ) |

I was tired when I wrote this, or I was not near my guitar. In any event, I meant that he raises the 7th, to get a lick on the "Branded Man" solo from his Bakersfield album with Vince Gill. So, now that that's cleared up, I have added a 1/2 step raise on 7th string on the RKL to get what I was looking for. But now that you all have chimed in on the Lowered 7, maybe I'll do that too... _________________ Bryce
