The first time I heard this played was by Ronnie Neighbors from Hot Springs, Arkansas. Ronnie did a wonderful job playing the song. I know Merle Haggard recorded it and I am sure other singers have as well. I just put new strings on my steel so they are still stretching but sure sound better.
