I’m playing my Encore with a humbucker thru an older Nashville 112 with an Emminence EPS-12c and I find my tone is quite thin. Is it the speaker? Should I go back to the stock speaker?

I think I found an answer to my own problem. I got on search and found some earlier posts that Tommy White did talking about installing the eps-12c and he submitted a screenshot of his amp settings. Really rolled of the highs and zeroed the presence. Gonna try them next.

Hi John. Have you read my topic about this. A speaker does make a difference. But you can also tweak as you said. Let me know what you find.

Ron, I really don’t have a reference point with the stock speaker as I transitioned to the Eminence pretty quickly after I got it. Just did a video with some other Steelers and found the tone really thin and bodyless. Found out Tommy Whites settings and I’ll try them out this weekend on the 2 gigs I have.

I tried a 12C, as I had the 15C version. and thought it would be great for a Telecaster but not steel.
The 12" Telonics (what I had in a NV112) or the Travis Toy 12 are much better for steel.

John, could you post Tommy’s settings or the link to his post with the NV 112 settings? Thanks.

Frank, here they are:
Low- +7
Mid. -9
Shift 400
High. -4
Presence. -15
These are approximations taken from the screenshot of Tommy’s amp knobs.
