Michael has the translucent ones, which is a different material, that I prefer over the stiffer white ones. Never liked those white plastic ones like the GLs or Show Pros, etc.
He offers several lengths and bore diameters. Unfortunately, he has high demand and is out of stock a lot....especially the long ones over 1". |

Some of the tuning nuts I have had over the years were white. They have a round flange around the rod hole, They are actually molded with the hole.
I like the semi translucent Nylon tuners that are made from stock. Cut to length and holes are drilled for tuning rods.
They seem to last a long time without breaking or cracking. |

That web site says the rod is in 4 foot lengths. You may want to request them to cut it into shorter lengths so it can be shipped U S Mail. The last I ordered I request 1 foot. The mail lady put the cardboard tube in my mail box.
I ordered 40 foot of 7/64" stainless steel rod 1 time, From Fastenal. To make some Emmons pull rods. They shipped it in 2 20 foot lengths taped to a 20 foot 1X3 board. The shipping was more than the rod cost. Taught me to request 3 foot lengths to ship, Real quick.
Good Luck on this project. |

The source I have used for Nylon 3/16" Hex stock is U.S. Plastics. Just go to their website, Key in Item No. 47520 it will come up. It lists for 5.66 a foot.
I have made several tuning nuts out of this stock, And some of them are in forum members guitars and my own too. |
