Hi all,

Since I don't trust my memory, I frequently need "cheat sheets" for songs. I don't like carrying a music stand around so I converted a trumpet lyre to fit magnetically on my Excel PSG (on the head of one of the steel hex screw).

Quite handy, removable and fits in the hard case!

If that can helps some with the same issue!

That's neat. I use an i-Pad holder that clamps to the leg of the guitar, but your idea is way smaller. I might even have a lyre somewhere but it would never have occurred to me to use it. Thanks for posting!

This is cool! I once made a mini music stand out of a pipe clamp and angle iron that went on the leg behind the guitar. It held a 3-ring pack of jumbo index cards with charts.

I've never used a trumpet lyre before. Does the paper ever flop over because the back doesn't extend all the way up?

Although not quite as handy as that, at gigs I set my steel case upright horizontally next to me and tape my cheat sheet (usually just a set list with some notes) to it. It makes it a little bit more subtle for gigs where the band/leaders don't like music stands/iPads on stage.

I actually use a small bristol sheet for each song (about A5 size), so it does not, but using printer paper might. A little more work to make those little sheets, but it helps being as discrete as possible, I too have the experience of band leaders seeing a music stand as amateur-ish.
